What up peeps? It has been a long time & a lot has changed since last time we spoke. OK, well not that much has really changed, I am still right and the overwhelming majority of people in this country are wrong. No, I am not talking about the decision to elect President Obama (although I have to say I told you so, thanks for "change"). I am not talking about our "Health Care Reform" (although I did try to warn all of you that the people of this country would lose their voice under this administration). I AM TALKING ABOUT THE SINGLE BIGGEST SCAM IN THE HISTORY OF THIS COUNTRY!!!
THE NCAA TOURNAMENT. MARCH MADNESS. Or as I have renamed it, AN ABSOLUTE JOKE ending to what is supposed to be a very important regular season of games that leads everyone to "the big dance". PUH LEASE.
First, The regular season means absolutely nothing. The #1 spot in the rankings changed more often during the regular season than I change my 1 year old sons dirty diaper (Yes I do change them, nobody is allowed to talk to my wife). With the way this regular season played out, there should have been 15 #1 seeds in this "great ending" to such an "important regular season". Again, I say PUH LEASE.
We made it to March. Let the Madness begin. Yes I know that all of you common folks love the upsets. you love the nobodies looking to beat the somebodies. Well let me remind you the somebodies are somebodies for a reason. But thanks to the nobodies, I am getting ready to spend what should be one of the greatest sports weekends of the year (Roy Jones v. Bernard Hopkins, Final Four Weekend, MLB starting) watching Duke (who is way below their standards this year, but I still hope makes it b/c if not this is pathetic) v West Va & Tennessee v Butler. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? What about Kansas, Kentucky, Syracuse, Ohio State, Villanova. Go ahead and talk about your upsets all you want to, I don't want mediocre schools who pulled an upset, give me the best of the best battling it out, I want to know who the best team in the country is. Do any of you think that we will truly know who the best team in the country is at the end of this "Madness"? PUH LEASE!!!
Go ahead, I can hear you pecking away at your little keyboard now. Everyone loves this (We all love "Change we can believe in"). It gives the little guys a chance. I DON'T CARE ABOUT THE LITTLE GUY!!! There I said it. Go ahead tell me about the majority. Tell me how I am way off base on this issue. I don't care, sometimes we have to step up and tell it like it is. There was a ton of talk about expanding this tournament to more than the 65 teams (Are there really 65 teams who deserve to get a chance to win the National Championship, I think not). Let me say it, Cut this field in half. No better idea, cut the "Madness" to 16 teams. That will make this thing fun and interesting. No more giants overlooking some joke of a school who is not on their level. The teams will be pretty evenly matched. I know this is not a popular school of thought, but IT IS RIGHT!!!
Finally, Please NCAA & BCS committee, please look at the joke that in the NCAA Basketball Tournament & do us all a favor...MAKE THE BCS A PERMANENT THING!!! The college football season is the BEST THING IN SPORTS. Tons of Big games every week, one loss can end a season, and the entire season is accounted for & you reward teams for being the best over the course of a season. Thank you for standing tall in spite of all of the criticism, complaining, and cowards who think we need to give every little brat in little league a trophy. Please continue to stand tall and hold your head up high. We are here for you. We love you. We don't want a change. Remember the most important thing that came out of our last presidential election...NOT EVERY CHANGE IS ONE YOU CAN BELIEVE IN!!!
